VertX Hockey Training System

The patented VertX Hockey Training System (V.H.T.S.) embodies The Guide Bar

which is one of the unique aspects to training with the Puck Tutor as it is specifically engineered to Place a player into a proper FWD Press Hockey Stance
Equation: Proper Posture + Weight Distribution
= Fwd Press Hockey Stance

V.H.T.S Shooting and Stickhandling Drills

The Guide Bar

  • engineered and designed to force a player into a FWD Press Hockey Stance to accelerate a player’s understanding of Proper Posture to be applied to most bodily positions applied to training with the Puck Tutor to immediately enhance on-ice performance. The Guide Bar also forces a player to learn the proper biomechanics of the Wrist and Backhand Shots to develop a Laser-Like Accurate shot.

The Wrist Shot

  • engineered and designed via The Guide Bar to simulate proper mechanics to the Wrist Shot motion within The Four Phases of developing The Perfect Wrist Shot with LaserLike Accuracy! The Guide Bar, also, corrects any incorrect biomechanical techniques from forming and becoming habit.

The Backhand Shot

  • engineered and designed via The Guide Bar to simulate the motion within The Four Phases of developing The Perfect Backhand Shot with LaserLike Accuracy! The Guide Bar, also, corrects any incorrect biomechanical techniques from forming and becoming habit.

The Arrowed Lines

  • designed to simulate developing Proper Posture, Proper Grip, Wrist Action, and Angles to the blade when Stickhandling: 1. Between the Skates. 2. Skate to Skate. 3. Puck Protection. 4. Shoulder Fakes.

The Stickhandling Pivot Zone

  • designed to simulate a player’s ability to understand and develop Equal Sweeping Motions to and from the Forehand and Backhand of the blade after the blade PIVOTS over the puck when practicing The Arrowed Lines; all while Limiting the Spatial Difference(s) between the puck and blade.

Development takes time and consistency

The Stickhandling Pivot Zone within the Arrowed Line Skill Section is of EXTREME importance to understand and develop as it directly influence all aspects of training with the Puck Tutor - the strengthening of the Core; Fingers, Hands, Wrists, and Forearms; and use of Top and Bottom Hands when Skating and Stick Handling in the:

Biomechanics Developed and Connected:

Proper Posture

  • spinal column (approximately 50-55 degrees) and knee bend angles (45-47degrees).

Proper Weight Distribution

  • Weight Distribution brought more forward starting from the front of the feet to the start of the heels.

Proper Shaft Angles

  • promotes proper shaft angles when stickhandling and shooting congruent to Proper FWD Press Hockey Stance.

Proper Blade Angles

  • promotes proper blade angles directly correlated to proper shaft angles influenced by developing and strengthening usage of proper Wrist Action; which directly promotes, influences, develops, and strengthens all Shot techniques: Wrist, Backhand, Snap, and Slap Shots!
  •

Proper Grip

  • proper grip with top and bottom hands, angle to wrist of top hand, and develops a congruency between angles of top hand/forearm and shaft of stick, as the shaft is usually an extension of top hand/forearm.

Promotes ‘The Motion of Hockey’

  • in which the foundation is the Lateral Weight Transfer for proper athletic muscle memory and motions that are applied to Skating, Stickhandling, Shooting, and Passing.

Within ‘The Motion of Hockey,’

  •  it promotes Proper Degrees of Knee Bend and Knee Action within the Lateral Weight Transfers for Skating Motions- Forward Stride, FWD C Cuts, and BWD C Cuts applied to Stickhandling, Shooting, and Passing.
  •

The Perfect Shot(s)

  • teaches and develops the 4 Phases for The Perfect Shot for Wrist and Backhand Shots developing Laser-Like Accuracy!

Varying Degrees of Widths to Lateral Weight Transfers

  • teaches varying widths to the Lateral Weight transfer applied to Skating, Stickhandling, Shooting, and Passing with proper knee bend and knee action.

Proper Spatial Differences

  • teaches proper spatial differences between the blade and puck when Stickhandling via the Stickhandling Pivot Zone; proper spacing between knees within FWD Press Hockey Stance; proper spacing between hands in Stickhandling and Shooting.

Core Strength Resistance Training

  • develops and provides a Full Body Physiological workout in the lower and upper body for increased strength in Skating, Stickhandling, Shooting, and Passing. And provides a Cardio Workout at the same time!

Sets Proper Foundation

  • for proper fundamentals. Avoids misinterpretation in learning and developing execution of proper fundamentals and biomechanics; and, prevents misinterpretations of improper fundamentals and techniques being thought of as practicing properly.

The FWD Press Hockey Stance is to be applied to all 3 training systems.

Thus, within those 11 categories… Repetition, Repetition, Repetition is the key to develop Perfect Practice and rapidly enhance On Ice Performance!
